Job Summary:

The Senior Associate Director of External Relations will develop a plan to connect the College of Arts and Science with outside partners. They will build and maintain relationships with external organisations to improve learning programs and create job opportunities for CAS graduates. This person reports to the Dean of CAS and the Director of Employer Relations in the Center for Career Exploration and Success. Apply Link

Duties/Physical Demands:

  • Building Relationships:

Connect and strengthen ties with relevant industries to support experiential learning programs.Collaborate with academic leaders to understand the curriculum and represent student achievements to external partners.Work with CAS departments to increase partnerships with companies and agencies.

  • Supporting Student Development:

Identify what employers and their employees need and match it with current or potential programs.Work with marketing teams to tell a compelling story about how CAS and CCES help students in their career journeys.

  • Collaboration and Coordination:

Coordinate with various departments, centres, and University Advancement to exchange information and plan events.Plan alumni visits, projects, and learning opportunities for students

  • Career Fair Leadership:

Lead career fairs, help with employer engagement, and organise workshops for fair preparation.Be the go-to person for employers looking for CAS majors and those seeking candidates from all fields.

  • Connecting Employers with Students:

Educate employers about the unique skills of CAS majors and encourage them to consider these students for internships and job opportunities.

Identify faculty champions willing to invite employers to speak to their classes.In a nutshell, the Senior Associate Director works on creating partnerships, supporting students’ career journeys, coordinating with different departments, leading career fairs, and connecting employers with students in the College of Arts and Science.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of industry experience; established record of accomplishment of identifying, developing, and managing relationships, particularly with organisations that appeal to majors within the College of Arts and Science.

Desired Qualifications:

We may consider candidates with a Master’s degree and at least 10 years of experience in industrial administration. Experience in sales and marketing is preferred, as well as event planning experience. We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, familiarity with desktop publishing software, and the ability to travel.
